A new Better Work programme has been launched in Uzbekistan to improve working conditions in the country’s textile and garment industry.

The International Labour Organization (ILO), the International Finance Corporation (IFC) – part of the World Bank Group, and key stakeholders in Uzbekistan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the initiative.

The two-year programme will promote labour standards and competitiveness in textile and garment factories through compliance assessments, training and advisory services.
