Tajikistan reduced the export of precious metals to a minimum in January of this year. According to statistics, in January this year, the proceeds from the sale of precious metals amounted to only $5,000.
This is at a time when this figure was more than $22.8 million a year earlier.
According to the Ministry of Industry and New Technologies, there are 18 gold mining companies in the country, and the production of this metal is growing every year.
However, the department does not share data on the actual volumes of gold production, referring to the secrecy of information about the extraction of the precious metal.
According to relevant departments, last year the sale of precious metals accounted for 30.7% of the country’s total exports. Precious metals were sold for over $717.4 million.
